After I made my metallic pumpkins, I had another thought for unique pumpkin design. A thought developed, inspired by The Craft in Me blog. A while back, Jalinda designed an awesomely cool Hard Rock Candle! Now, I give you…
heavy metal pumpkin -
The Gourd of Rock!
As with my metallic pumpkins, I started with a carvable foam pumpkin from Dollar Tree. I spray painted the pumpkin with ORB for that edgy-but-elegant vibe. Then, my Quirky Girl and I set to studdin’.
We used plain old silver metal thumbtacks for the body of the pumpkin and brass brads for the stem. It’s hard to see in the pics, but this little headbanger sports two tones of metal.
I love it! It totally suits my personality and my home and family. We’re traditional, modern and metalhead all in one. I really love that I’m going to use the pumpkin as decor through fall AND winter – the neutral color with metallic accents will be at home through the holidays and beyond!
Hope your autumn totally rocks!!!
CY, Laurie

Now that is one fine pumpkin!
Rock on...definitely one unique gourd.
I love it Laurie, looks awesome!
Cool effect.
Did you have to do anything special to spray paint them? I once used spray paint on styrofoam and it practically melted; therefore, I haven't tried it again since.
