Remember the
salvaged wrought iron metal wall hanging I posted about recently? Well, I’ve created a second piece of yard art from my old broken-down Charleston bench!
Here’s how the wood started:

My Great Guy nailed six of the boards together horizontally, bracing the back with two vertical boards. Then, I painted a base coat of ivory/beige spray paint. to start:

I then spent a couple days stumped about how to decorate the “sign.” Then, my mind wandered back to my good old rubber mats (remember my
faux window grilles?)
I had a couple border pieces of a mat on hand, so I used them as stencils to spray paint colorful designs onto the ivory background:

My Great Guy hung the sign on the fence by our side door for me and I am enjoying it every time I come and go from our home (quite often now that school has begun!).
